God and Country There is a conflict that reflects a deep divide in today's American culture – a conflict that, if resolved, could pave the way for our nation to come together and successfully address the issues that fill the airways. This two week special series is by Andy Stanley, Senior Pastor of North Point Ministries, and one of the best communicators in the church today. The link will take you to the North Point media page for the series – look on the right side of the page for the Watch Entire Message links. |

One of the things we see all around us in the world is anxiety, or worry. We worry about our health, our jobs, our finances, our relationships, terrorism, the economy, the environment... You get it; we worry about just about everything. Pastor Rick examines some of the reasons we worry, and the reasons why, as Christians, we need to stop worrying. |
|
Biblically, the heart is not an organ for circulating the blood – it's the center of who we are spiritually, emotionally, and morally. It is from our heart that all our words and deeds flow, so it is vitally important that we guard our hearts. |
|
One of the most important things we leave our family is a legacy, not of material wealth, but of character, integrity, and most importantly, a legacy of faith in God. |
|
There have been many big events in our lives. This series uses some big events in American history to help us understand the biggest event of all time – the resurrection of Jesus. |
|
Relationship and religion. One is all about rules, activity, and achievement. The other is all about us and Jesus. Religion can often get in the way of the only important thing in the world – our saving relationship with Jesus. |
|
The first human institution dates from before the Fall – marriage. Marriage is central to the lives of most of us, and it can be a great joy or a great sorrow. In this series, Pastor Ken will explore the plan God has for men and women in marriage. |
|
We believe that Jesus gave us two things to do as Christians – two ordinances. One is baptism, and the other is The Lord's Supper, or Communion. On Sunday, January 3, 2010, we celebrated The Lord's Supper together as a congregation. Pastor Ken's message taught us what it means and how we, as Baptists, celebrate it. To learn more about our beliefs and practices, please contact Ministry Pastor Hal Hunter or call the office during the week. |

What are the goals of The Church at Argyle? What are our values? Where did we come from? How are we different from other churches around us? In this series Pastor Ken will be doing some "vision casting" as he discusses where we were, where we are, and where we ought to be going as a church. |

Children and families are important to us here at Argyle. We spend a lot of energy making sure we are helping kids and families connect with God. Parents – when you were growing up, was church or Sunday school boring? Have trouble sitting still and being quiet? Be honest! It was for us, and we don't want it to be that way for our kids – or yours. We want learning about God to be fun and exciting. We want our kids so pumped up about coming to church they ask their friends to come. We want to make a difference in the spiritual lives of our families. On Sunday, November 15, 2009, we surprised everyone by moving the entire regular Worship Gathering into the KidStuf Theater in the Family Life Center and devoting the whole morning to introducing KidStuf and Children's Ministry at Argyle to people who might not have heard of it before. We had a blast! Enjoy it with us. To learn more about our Children's Ministry, click here or contact Children's Ministry Director Amy Gieger |

Most people are surprised to learn that if we look at a topical index of the Bible, one of the most frequently mentioned subjects is money or possessions. We live in a world that is more and more driven by money and the pursuit of wealth. Our world is at the same time in great financial turmoil. In all the things that the Bible says about money and possessions, what is it telling us? What can we learn from God's Word that will help us deal with our world's addiction to "stuff?" |

Faith is a fundamental of Christianity. The New Testament Greek word pistis is usually translated faith. In the verb form it can also mean to believe, or to trust. The apologist and author C. S. Lewis wrote, "Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted in spite of your changing moods" and Martin Luther King Jr. told us, "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase." |

The Christian life isn't meant to be lived alone. God wired us to crave connections with other people, and to be interdependent. The church is wired to be a community of connected individuals. After viewing this series, if you want more information about Life Groups at Argyle, contact Ministry Pastor Hal Hunter by calling the office at 777-1238 during office hours. |

This is a two-part series and a first for Argyle. The first message, from July 5, is a guest appearance (via video) by Andy Stanley, of North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Pastor Ken delivers the message of July 12. Even non-Christians acknowledge the conscience, that still, small voice of inner conviction. Christians believe that it is more than a moral component of our make-up; we believe that it is spiritual- the voice of the Holy Spirit. Enjoy two gifted communicators discussing the need for our nation to listen to our collective conscience. |

This series began April 26, 2009. Grace is unmerited and undeserved favor. The amazing thing about God's grace is that we don't deserve it, we can't buy it, couldn't afford it if we could buy it, but we desperately need it. Listen to Pastor Ken as he explores Amazing Grace. |

This series began January 4, 2009. It centers on Bible prophecy, mostly from the books of Daniel and Revelations. It's about what God's Word has to say about things yet to come and the end times. It helps us understand that world events we are seeing unfold around us today are part of God's continuing plan for history. |
